Our History

Grace Anglican Church was started in February 2006 with a small group of families interested in learning and sharing the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We began meeting in small community groups in the homes of our members in the Gaston County area.  These community meetings brought us closer to each other and our commitment to serve as disciples of the Lord.

Our services are based on the truth in scripture and we live to serve the Lord through his word.

Grace Anglican Church was a church plant from The Church of the Good Shepherd in Davidson, NC. We have since become a self-sufficient congregation.

Over the years, we have worshiped in different places around Gaston County. Each place served our needs well, even though we moved to new locations. We currently are worshiping in the chapel of the Place of Refuge in Gastonia, NC.

In April 2016, the first rector of Grace Anglican retired and we began the process of calling a new priest to serve us. Our bishop sent a retired priest and a deacon to lead our worship services. During that time, we decided to call the deacon our bishop sent, Jeremiah Caughran, to become our new priest. He was ordained to the priesthood on August 1, 2016 and became our vicar (a priest serving part time in the parish) on September 1, 2016. Father Jeremiah became rector (full time parish priest) on January 1, 2022
